How We Work

Are you in pain? Here’s how we can help you get out of it.

Our approach begins by hearing your story. Tell us what is going on we want to hear all about it.

We will then ask you to go through an assessment with us. This can include palpation of body structures, you might be asked to perform certain movements by yourself or with the assistance of the therapist, as well as that the therapist can perform a range a of orthopedic tests to understand what possible structures are involved or potentially causing pain.

Once we have gathered enough information together we can work on recovery strategies to put you in charge of your pain.

Our difference

When it comes to helping people out of pain our experience shows that we have been most successful in our attempts when get people stronger using barbells and performing the squat, press, bench press and deadlift. Indeed the human body is very adaptable despite some peoples feelings of frailty. Now there are situations where people who we see in the clinic may not be ready to perform these movements but we will try to find a way to progress you towards it by finding out what you can do and then coaching you to get there.

How long have you been in pain?

Is it a couple of days or a couple of months, the course of treatment is radically different based on where you are now. If the injury is acute lasting less than a couple of days, then perhaps manual therapy can be useful to help you recover, however if you have been experiencing chronic pain, pain of longer duration, then it is worth noting that to recover you will probably need more time.
